The Hyder Index

The Hyder Index is a monthly measure of the Change-Response Gap: the distance between how quickly an industry is changing and how effectively companies in that industry are responding. the Index tracks 15 industries using six observable signals of change and five response indicators. A score of 50 means change and response are even. The higher the score, the wider the gap and the greater the need for a proportional response.

Explore each edition of the Hyder Index. Each monthly report includes the overall Index reading, industry rankings, the Change-Response Gap and the evidence behind the scores.

Monthly tracking began in May 2026. The May edition is the first monthly benchmark, not a one-time 2026 baseline.

The June reading was published with the July 7 release, so the archive preserves its measurement month separately from its publication date.
